A scientific article is a small-scale text, an article prepared by a scientific institution and published in a scientific journal, which presents the results of research or a valuable analysis of previous results, presents a concise, approved and formatted description of the scientific result, is disclosed not only in practice, but also in the case of new theoretical knowledge. based on a comprehensive, consistent and systematic study.

There is a need for in-depth study of scientific literature. The parts of the article are necessary for the articles prepared on the basis of empirical research. The summary is an integral part of the scientific discipline. Summary – a short, no more than one page, layout of the core work in one of the main foreign languages.

The author presents the author in several sentences; the essence of the subject is described; purpose of the work; the target audience for which the work is intended; author’s views and basic ideas; author’s findings, results and suggested solutions (recommendations) to solve the problem.


It gives the reader a quick overview and informative access to the content of the course paper and to understand what is written about it. It is usually written at the end of the work, on a separate sheet. The summary should reflect the essential statements of the article. The summary (about 500 characters) in the original language briefly describes the content of the article. Longer summaries are often excluded and shortened from the bottom. Very short are also undesirable.


This is an important part of the article, most often read in the literature search.

The summary (other than the original) in the summary should reflect the scientific problem raised in the article, the research methodology (for empirical research), the main results and conclusions.


The summary is written when the work is finished. It must be written in the subject language, using the concepts and terms properly. The subject language is characterized by: business accuracy (concepts, terms), logic of interpretation, coherence of text, generalization. The same things throughout the text must be called the same. Subjectivity is not suitable for business text.

The summary should reflect the fundamental idea of ​​the study, the research methods used and the conclusions reached.
The reader should inform the reader if he / she is worth reading your article. If it does not perform this function, it is one of the disadvantages of the article.


The summary should not contain references to literary sources.
The summary does not need to describe the research methods used, it is enough to mention them.


Most scientific journals contain a limit of 250 words.

Summary Requirements


Elements of its formatting (written one after the other): author’s name, title of the work (in capital letters), what specialty and course work, scientific supervisor, name of the higher education institution, faculty and department, place of preparation, date, volume, separate tables and number of pictures. The word SUMMARY is written in a separate line.

The following sub-sections should be included in the summary:

  • Title of the final work.
  • Author’s name and surname.
  • The justification and hypothesis of the research, the relevance of the topic and the main problem solved.
  • Object of research, purpose and research objectives.
  • The main research method should be specified to address the problem or to achieve the goal.
  • The main result of the study, the main conclusion and the proposal must be briefly presented.
  • Discussion and conclusions.
  • Key words. 3-5 Informative Words or Phrases (Can’t Be Anything)
  • one word in the title).


Writing recommendations:

  • it must match the content of the article; if the work duplicates previous research, it is advisable to mark it with the author of the research;
  • ever shortening and unique terms must be explained; citing the thoughts of other authors, it is necessary to indicate sources and authors; each sentence must be informative, especially introductory sentences, and must be as short as possible.
  • start with the most important – results and conclusions;
  • if possible, identify the problem with one sentence; to specify research methods;
  • The summary should include a very concise comment on the material. The purpose of the summary is to present the main idea of ​​the work that would fit the reference journal.
